How do you play Battleship on paper?
Draw two 10x10 grids, place 10 ships on yours and call out coordinates in turn. A hit earns another shot, a miss passes the turn.
How many ships are there?
Ten: one four-decker, two three-deckers, three two-deckers and four single-deckers, 20 cells in total.
Can ships touch each other?
No. At least one empty cell must separate them, and corners count as touching too.
